Welcome to my little art space. My true pottery love is jars and teapots, and I’m endlessly captivated by various approaches to lidded vessels. Textures feature strongly throughout my art, and I’m especially interested in the look and feel of unglazed surfaces. My influences can be found in the natural world, in flowing water, stone, trees, and flowers.

Pinch Pot Pumpkins
Sept 19th, 2:30 - 4:30 pm
Cascade Ceramics Studio
Come make some cute little pumpkins in a fun studio setting. We will handbuild our decorative pumpkins or pumpkin-shaped cups, and add color. The studio will then add clear glaze, and fire them twice to finish them. Pumpkins will be ready 4 weeks after class for you to pick up.

October: Jars with lids, a 5 week intermediate class that explores different forms of jars and lids. Saturday afternoon, time tbd
October: Creatures! come handbuild creatures using the “potato pinch pot” method. This delightful class is sure to bring lots of laughs and a whimsical or ferocious creature for you to bring home. 4 weeks Mondays, time tbd
November/December: Beginner and supported study wheel class. Saturdays. No class Thanksgiving weekend. 5 weeks.

Handthrown on the wheel with a beautiful warm brown speckled clay and finished with a band of shino glaze. Each jar will come with a square of 100% cotton to lay inside the lid, for an added touch of protection for your loose tea.
Please note: Blue jar has a very small glaze flaw (see last photo,) a rough spot on the inside that has been smoothed down and will not affect function.
